As per apnaqanoon,Sec 21 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 provides that use of electronic means that may result in reputational damage or breach of privacy shall be punishable according to law/qanoon with imprisonment of up to seven years or with which may extend up to 5 million rupees or both.
