Arsenal and Manchester United continue their USA preseason tour with an eye-catching clash at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Both sides have enjoyed positive starts to the summer schedule, with United securing wins over Leeds United and Lyon, before flying to the US, as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal hammered an MLS All Star team 5-0 on July 20.This fixture signals the next phase of preseason for Arteta and his opposite number Erik ten Hag with both managers aiming for a strong start to the 2023/24 campaign.

Arteta’s squad has been bolstered

Arteta’s squad has been bolstered by the arrivals of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber this month and all of them start, while United’s new No.1 Andre Onana needs more time before he joins up with the squad.

Arsenal fans will be excited to see Rice in action after the England star made a cameo appearance off the bench against the MLS All Stars.

Onana is not in the squad for this game, as his arrival was delayed by extended transfer talks, but fellow new signing Mason Mount starts, alongside some of the established starters like Antony, Luke Shaw, and Bruno Fernandes. We’ll see how Mount and Fernandes co-exist.
