Mount Vernon, Yonkers mayor among those remembering CBS’ Elise Finch, who died at 51
Shocked. Heartbroken. Gutted.
The death of Elise Finch, 51, an Emmy-winning CBS New York meteorologist from Mount Vernon, drew sorrowful words from city Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, Council member Lisa Copeland and others who remembered the young woman they knew who grew up to become a daily fixture of the nation’s largest local TV news market.
“You laugh at the memories and the things about her that made you smile and made you proud, and then you cry at the shock of, oh my God, at 51 and so suddenly she was taken away from us,” Patterson-Howard said.

Finch is survived by her husband Graig Henriques and their daughter Grace. The family moved back to Mount Vernon several months ago, something that was important to Finch, Patterson-Howard said.
