The investigation continues into Friday’s fatal crash that killed a Rutland City Police Department officer.
The officer who died has been identified as 19-year-old Jessica Ebbighausen. She started working with the Rutland Police Department on May 23 as a part-time, level 2-certified officer.

Police said they got a call at about 2:35 p.m. that a man, 20-year-old Tate Rheaume, was trying to break-in to a home on East Washington Street. Rutland police responded. They said Rheaume was driving away from the scene and an officer pursued it.
