Preamble

Whereas it is expedient to establish the International Islamic Institute for Peace (IIIP) to promote peace, harmony, and understanding through Islamic principles and interfaith dialogue globally, it is hereby enacted as follows:


Chapter I: Preliminary

  1. Short Title and Commencement:
    • This Act may be called the International Islamic Institute for Peace Act, 2024.
    • It shall come into force immediately upon its enactment.
  2. Definitions:
    • Institute: Refers to the International Islamic Institute for Peace (IIIP) established under this Act.
    • Board: Refers to the Board of Governors of the Institute.
    • Chairperson: Refers to the Chairperson of the Board of Governors.
    • Peace Initiatives: Refers to programs and activities designed to foster peace, resolve conflicts, and promote harmony.

Chapter II: Establishment and Governance

  1. Establishment of the IIIP:
    • The IIIP shall be established as an autonomous international body headquartered in [location to be determined].
  2. Objectives of the Institute:
    • To promote peace and understanding through Islamic teachings and interfaith dialogue.
    • To conduct research on peacebuilding and conflict resolution within Islamic and interfaith contexts.
    • To organize international conferences, seminars, and workshops on peace initiatives.
    • To provide training and education on non-violence and harmony.
  3. Governing Body:
    • The IIIP shall be governed by a Board of Governors comprising:
      • A Chairperson appointed by the Head of State or an international committee.
      • Ten members from diverse fields, including scholars, diplomats, and peace advocates.
      • An Executive Director responsible for the day-to-day management of the Institute.
  4. Functions and Powers of the Board:

    • Approving the annual budget and strategic plan.
    • Establishing regional offices for implementing peace initiatives.
    • Partnering with international organizations, governments, and NGOs.

Chapter III: Financial Provisions

  1. Funding Sources:
    • The IIIP shall be funded through:
      • Grants and donations from governments, international bodies, and private donors.
      • Revenue generated from programs, publications, and training sessions.
  2. Auditing:
    • The accounts of the IIIP shall be audited annually by an independent international auditing firm.

  1. Core Programs:
    • Research and Publications: Producing scholarly work on Islamic perspectives on peace and conflict resolution.
